SolarVault 3 Pro Max: who is it for, what is it for?

The SolarVault 3 line-up comes in three models — the S3 Pro (1,200 W on-grid), the S3 Pro Max (2,500 W on-grid), and the S3 Pro Max AC (AC coupling for existing installations). The SolarVault 3 Pro Max is the one highlighted for France, and that makes sense: with its high output, it targets households looking to go beyond simple offset for standby or lighting.

Specifically, the Pro Max is designed for homes and apartments with substantial energy needs: washing machines, dishwashers, air conditioning, tumble dryers… so many energy-hungry appliances that can be powered by the stored solar energy, day or night.

Solar performance: 4,000 W input and 4 independent MPPTs

The core of the SolarVault 3 Pro Max is its ability to capture maximum solar energy, even in less-than-ideal conditions. The system accepts up to 4,000 W of PV input spread across four independent MPPT trackers. Each MPPT manages its own group of panels, meaning panels facing different directions or partially shaded won’t penalize the whole system.

Expandable storage from 2.52 to 15.12 kWh

The main unit houses an LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) 2.52 kWh battery. The beauty of LFP chemistry lies in two strengths: a longer lifespan than standard NMC batteries and enhanced thermal safety. But the real power of the system lies in its expandability: by adding up to five additional battery packs (2.52 kWh each), total storage can reach 15.12 kWh.

2,500 W on-grid and 3,680 W bypass: real power

This is the point that differentiates the Pro Max from typical balcony solar systems, often limited to 800 W. The SolarVault 3 Pro Max delivers up to 2,500 W on-grid output, enabling heavy-duty appliances to be powered directly from the home grid. In bypass mode (off-grid), power climbs to 3,680 W.

In the event of a power outage, the system automatically switches to backup power up to 2,500 W (with a battery pack connected), with a fast enough switchover to keep sensitive equipment running.

AI-powered energy management

The SolarVault 3 Pro Max does more than store energy: it actively optimizes consumption thanks to an onboard artificial intelligence system.

Dynamic pricing

The system connects to real-time pricing platforms such as Nordpool, Tibber, Rabot and more than 860 European energy suppliers. It charges the battery when the price per kWh is at its lowest and discharges when prices are highest. An arbitrage strategy that works even without sun, at night or in cloudy weather.

Smart Mode

The AI predicts upcoming solar production, household consumption, and the battery’s state of charge to automatically select the most profitable operating mode. No manual programming needed: the system continuously adapts.

Whole-home management

By pairing the SolarVault 3 Pro Max with a smart meter (or a Jackery meter reader) and up to four connected plugs, you can precisely control consumption device by device, reduce standby draw, and optimize the operation cycles of energy-hungry appliances. The system is also compatible with Home Assistant, enabling full integration into an existing home automation ecosystem.

Safety: thermal detection, extinguishing system and certification

With a product that runs 24/7 in a home, safety isn’t a detail. Jackery has integrated several layers of protection into the SolarVault 3 Pro Max:

Terminal temperature detection — The system continuously monitors the temperature of PV and network connections and immediately alerts in the event of overheating.

Our first impression of the SolarVault 3 Pro Max

On paper, the Jackery SolarVault 3 Pro Max checks many boxes. The 2,500 W on-grid output positions it above the majority of balcony solar systems available in France. The extensibility up to 15 kWh and the ability to parallel up to three units show that Jackery targets both small apartments and homes with substantial needs.

The AI-powered management, with dynamic pricing and predictive smart mode, is a true differentiator if the promises hold true in real-world conditions.
