Huge sale in Ennis with over 1,100 animals passing through the mart, where an excellent clearance rate of 95% was achieved. There was a large attendance of buyers present with over 150 purchasing stock on the day. Trade was brisk in all rings throughout the day. Bullocks generally made from €1.84/kg to €2.68/kg. In the heifer ring forward stores and fat heifers were a strong trade, heifers from 350 - 500kgs sold from €1.75/kg - €2.65/kg, heavy heifers sold mainly from €1.83/kg to €2.54/kg. Cull cow numbers are continuing to rise with over 260 passing through the ring, more dairy cows are starting to appear now, the quality of these was very good generally despite the bad weather. Good continental types sold from €1.54/kg to €2.26/kg, other types traded from €0.85/kg up to €1.47/kg. Aged bulls sold between €1.28/kg and €1.97/kg.
