Castlerea Mart Market Report Re sale 16/06/22

Over 500 cattle presented for sale on Thursday last with trade and prices holding with a good offering of quality stores on offer. Bullocks made up to €2120 with heifers reaching €1970 while the dry cows made up to €3270 or €3.71 a kilo. Demand remains strong for the lighter stores also while the cows with calves at foot made up to €2300 for a Limousin cow with her Simmental bull calf.

The calf and runner ring reported a good clearance also with increased farmer activity.
