Castlerea Mart Market report re sale 18/11/21

Thursday sale witnessed a slight decrease in numbers presented for sale as we enter the pre Christmas period. Trade has held up well with the weanling rings reporting an improved trade this week with the bulls peaking at €3.19 a kilo while the heifer weanlings peaked at €4.22 a kilo or €1290 for a 305kgs Lmx weanling heifer.

The heifer trade remains steady with quality stores in strong demand while the cows with calves at foot saw lots reach €2680.

The dry cow trade remains firm with lots making up to €1900 or €2.51 a kilo.
