Legal Protection for the Old Irish Goat?

In Mulranny, Co. Mayo a campaign is underwayis under wayto give legal protection to the Old Irish Goat, an indigenous Irish breed that is at risk, with an estimated population of less than 300 goats.
With a history dating back to their arrival in Ireland in 2000 BC a petition to have them listed as endangered has already exceeded 7000 signatures.
