Ballycommon Sponsored Ride, a not-for-profit community organisation along with the Agricultural Contractors of North Tipperary, are hosting an event ‘The Christmas Tractors of Nenagh’ on December 21st, 2019.

This spectacular event will showcase all types of farm machinery decorated in the best Christmas festive fashion. An event for all ages with Santa & Mrs. Claus plus characters from Disney and the local Fire Brigade.

This event is supported by the Chamber of Commerce, local council and businesses to bring families into the town for this wonderful sight so close to Christmas. This event is now running for its second year with 2019 aiming to exceed expectations experienced last December.

The proceeds will go to two very worthy charities Embrace FARM, the farm accident support network and to Billy’s Recovery. Embrace FARM the farm accident support network supports those affected by farming accidents, both fatal and serious injuries.

Unfortunately, statistics show that one farmer is killed nearly every two weeks in Ireland, over 290 lives were lost in the last ten years alone. Embrace FARM offers emotional support to families after they very suddenly find their lives changed for ever after an accident through its annual remembrance service, residential counselling weekends and support groups. Practical advice is also offered for families picking up the pieces after such a life changing event. For further information please go to www.embracefarm.com

Billy’s Recovery is the heart aching story of Billy Goulding who after contracting a virus was left paralysed. The funds raised will go a long way in helping Billy’s parents, Eileen and Victor, in providing him with the much-needed support and care as he grows up.

You can read more about Billy’s story here https://www.facebook.com/shanahangoulding/ The main organiser behind the Ballycommon Sponsored Ride is local North Tipperary man, Albert Purcell. Albert has been involved with local community fundraising for many years through the Ballycommon Sponsored Ride, a sponsored equestrian ride for all to participate in each March with proceeds going to charity for this event also.
