Seminars on Transferring the Family Farm
06/10/2012 Website News

The seminars will be addressed by tax advisers, solicitors, succession mediators and social welfare advisers.
Key issues to be addressed include ensuring that the retired farmer and spouse has sufficient income.
Teagasc finance specialist James McDonnell said: "Inheritance and succession, like death and taxes, are things that are unavoidable. At these seminars you will gain an insight into not only the legal, social welfare, and tax implications, but also the best way to go about having the conversation in the family setting."
The goal of the seminars, the first of which took place on Monday in Mallow, Co Cork, is to make the task of transferring the family farm less daunting.
