Judge Dorney said at the time of the incident, Mr Judge, who had left Ireland in December 2008, had obtained an Australian "working visa" valid for one year before he left.
He was engaged in cotton farm work at that time after deciding he liked Australia and wished to stay a second year.
"It meant, for the purposes of extending his visa for that additional time, he was required to work 88 days on a farm or in a regional area in Australia during the initial year," Judge Dorney noted.
He noted while the only major issue was quantum of damages there were many other aspects which need addressing.
In a 20-page written judgment, Judge Dorney found damages at $612,915 and after a deduction for Work Cover of $46,163 he made an order the defendants pay Mr Judge $566,752.
