Countdown to Flavours of Fingal 2014

Call for entries for Dublin’s only Agricultural Show taking place next month! Tuesday, 20th May 2014;

The countdown has started for the 2014 Flavours of Fingal County Show which takes places next month, on the 28th and 29th of June in Newbridge House and Farm, Donabate, Co. Dublin. The highly competitive livestock competitions are now open for entries and judging will again take place in breeding classes of cattle, sheep and poultry.

The two day event will feature a busy programme of livestock and sheep competitions, equestrian contests and other agricultural displays. The popular farming and foodie event celebrates the best of Irish breeding and the world class food credentials from the renowned Irish producers in the Fingal area.

The Flavours of Fingal County Show promotes and exhibits all breeds and disciplines of livestock. This year the cattle competitions will welcome entries for the following breeds; Aberdeen Angus, Hereford, Simmental, Limousin, Charollais, Beef Shorthorn. There will also be a commercial cattle section. Those entering the sheep categories are welcome to put forward livestock from the Suffolk, Vendeen, Charollais, Jacob, Texel and poultry classes will again take place over the weekend.

The Flavours of Fingal County Show is a family event that combines the sights and sounds of an agricultural show with a memorable food horticultural and family fun experience.

The historic walled garden of Newbridge House will again host the food producers section and will feature an array of favourite local delights from Country Crest, Keelings and Keogh’s to name a few. Attendees will this year get the chance to try their hand at sheep shearing and to witness geese herding first hand.

We have a wide range of classes to enter so are hopeful of welcoming a surge of entries for the event. With just four weeks to enter, we encourage competitors to get their entries in now!.”

Elaine O’Sullivan, Fingal Tourism said, “We are delighted to be running the now very successful Flavours of Fingal County Show, now in its third year. This year the event has been brought forward from September to June, we hope that this will encourage even more interest in the event. Don’t forget to submit your entry by the 16th June to guarantee your spot.”
