The National Dairy Council & Kerrygold Quality Milk Awards set out to identify and to reward the top dairy farmer in the Republic of Ireland.

The awards help to build awareness about the dairy farmers in the Republic of Ireland who are behind our local dairy brands; and create an opportunity to showcase to consumers the top quality of our dairy farming. The Awards also provide a platform for co-ops to highlight to their own suppliers the technical requirements, standards and techniques which drive top quality milk production.

The National Dairy Council first became involved in running the Quality Milk Awards in 2009, supported by a very strong level of interest in the awards from co-ops as well as from the wider industry and farming community. In February 2012 it was announced that The National Dairy Council & The Irish Dairy Board, through its Kerrygold brand, would co-sponsor the national programme, under the new title of The NDC & Kerrygold Quality Milk Awards.

The competition is open to farmers living in and farming in the Republic of Ireland who are producing liquid or manufacturing milk.

The overall results of the NDC & Kerrygold Quality Milk Awards will be announced at prizegiving ceremony later in 2012.
