Fatal Farm Accidents on the rise.

Fatalities in the farming sector is far higher than in any other economic sector in Ireland. In 2013 the number of deaths had fallen from a previous twenty fatalities in 2012 to thirteen in 2013 but last year records show thirty fatalities in farm and related activities. Out of a total number of work related deaths of 56 last year - farming related incidents represent over 50% of all these fatalities.
Tractors, Farm Vehicles and Machinery are involved over 60% of last years farm deaths and the next highest cause is livestock related at 17%. See Graphs
