A very well attended recent open day on the Hynes dairy farm near Aherla, Co. Cork for Breast Cancer & Aware charities raised €15K and this was split 50/50 between both charities.
Peter & Paula are Dairygold Coop milk suppliers and they won the Zurich Insurance/Farming Independent 2017 farmer of the year award
The Rathard pedigree herd of Holstein Friesians has trebled in size since 2010 to 150 cows today and they aim to get to 200 by 2018.
However a new hi tech 20-unit Dairymaster Swiftflow parlour with Moo monitor + herd heath and fertility system installed in April 2017 has transformed their lives.
