3000 farm animals found dead after Northern Ireland blizzard. The carcasses of more than 3,000 farm animals which died when a blizzard engulfed Northern Ireland have so far been collected in a state funded disposal scheme. 03/04/2013 - Winter Feed Situation Impacting
Unfavourable weather conditions, both in summer 2012 and spring 2013, has led to increased costs on many farms. Poor quality forages and now a shortage of grass and forage has led to increased feed bills. Poorer than usual animal performance, has impacted on farm receipts. This has already had implications for cash flow on some farms, and will continue to impact on cash flow through the remainder of 2013.

03/04/2013 - Strong Beef Prices will continue.....
IFA National Livestock Committee Chairman Henry Burns said strong beef prices will continue, driven by tight supplies and very buoyant demand in the market. He said the higher prices are required and farmers will struggle to cover the exceptional high feed costs this spring.
