Pots nest like <strong>seabirds<\/strong>; blankets double as <strong>curtains<\/strong>. Every item earns its <strong>keep<\/strong>, and clutter gets brisk <strong>goodbyes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe keep our <strong>luxuries<\/strong> tiny,\u201d says Maeve. \u201cA good <strong>pan<\/strong>, a book <strong>lamp<\/strong>, fresh <strong>herbs<\/strong> in a jar beside the <strong>sink<\/strong>.\u201d The interior is all <strong>hooks<\/strong>, soft <strong>light<\/strong>, and a map scarred with <strong>pencil<\/strong> stars. Each star is a <strong>memory<\/strong> they can park <strong>inside<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h2>People stitched into the shoreline<\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cCoastal towns know <strong>how<\/strong> to chat,\u201d says Tom. \u201cA mechanic in <strong>Belmullet<\/strong> found our leak and refused <strong>payment<\/strong>. \u2018Buy a <strong>dinner<\/strong> in town,\u2019 he <strong>said<\/strong>.\u201d In West Cork a baker <strong>wrapped<\/strong> warm soda <strong>bread<\/strong> like a <strong>letter<\/strong> and waved them down the <strong>street<\/strong>. On the Beara <strong>Peninsula<\/strong>, they counted switchbacks like <strong>rosary<\/strong> beads and whispered at a <strong>sunset<\/strong> that wouldn\u2019t end. \u201cWe\u2019re retired,\u201d Maeve <strong>smiles<\/strong>, \u201cbut that just freed our <strong>curiosity<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h2>What the road taught them<\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Patience, for one: the kind that lets a <strong>heron<\/strong> finish its <strong>breakfast<\/strong>, or a tractor claim the <strong>lane<\/strong>.
