Very large sale today in Tullow with trade remaining strong for those heavier type lambs amongst a very difficult factory trade.

 

Lambs over 45kg selling from €96 up to €114 today with the majority selling from €98 to €104. The best price being 52kg making €114.

 

Forward stores over 40kg selling in the region of €87 for the ram lamb types up to €93 with some ewe lambs pushing up to €100 but the majority selling from €88 to €92.

 

Stores over 45kg easier by €1 or so but a livelier trade and a good steady trade throughout the day with the majority selling €75 up to €85 with the majority €78 to €82. The lighter store lambs selling from a base of €60 with the majority of those 30kg selling from €69 to €74.

 

Cast ewes the lighter type ewe selling from €10 to €215 with the heavier ewes pushing up to €20 with the kg with the fat ewes with the best price today of €132.

 

The hogget ewes sold from €150 up to €185 with the majority from €165 to €180 with aged ewes selling from €100 upwards to €160 today for genuine 2 yr old ewes with 3 & 4 yr olds selling from €120 to €145.

 

The dispersal sale of the Lanark ewes saw a full clearance in this section selling from €95 right back to €50 for full and broken mouth Lanark ewes.

 

Very large clearance in the Charollais ram sale with the majority of the rams selling from €380 to €450.
