Tullow mart report Friday 7^th February 2020.

 

Brisk trade today in Tullow with a very lively demand around the ring for both bks and hfrs.

Those FR, plainer AA and HE bks sold today from €1.80 to €2 per kg with upwards of the good continental bks sold up to a tops of €2.20 today for the very forward type cattle all over 500kg with a noticed trade for the lighter store bk. The good continental bks sold from €2.10 up to €2.65 per kg depending on quality and weight with the HE and AA selling from €2 upwards and some lighter FR selling from €1.85 per kg. Hfrs a noticed demand around the ring for those fleshed in spec hfrs. They sold from €2.05 up to €2.20 per kg with the store hfrs again briskly selling HE and AA from €2 upwards with the continentals out to a tops of €2.55 per kg today.

Cull cows no change here as we have seen in the last number of weeks. FR cows anything from €150 with the kg up to €350 with the kg for the heavier fleshed FR cow with the continental store cows selling from €200 with the kg out to a tops of €750 with the kg for the heavier type cow.

In the calf ring a larger selection of calves on offer. FR calves selling from €25 up to €80 for the shipping type calves with the heavier stronger FR bulls selling up to €110 per head. HE and AA hfr calves sold from €150 up to €220 and HE and AA bulls sold from €190 up to €310.

 

Just to remind everyone cattle have to be pre entered for the main cattle sale on or before Thursday at 4pm and the cull cows commencing on Friday morning at 10:30am and calves in Ring 2 at 11:30am and there is a collection service available for all cattle but especially for cull cows and calves.
