MARKETHILL LIVESTOCK SHEEP SALE REPORT 30-07-20
An entry of 1560 sheep at Markethill on Wednesday 29 th July continued to sell in a very firm trade for
cull ewes and fat lambs. Store lamb trade remained exceptionally strong. Breeding stock sold in a
firmer trade.
The 1100 lambs sold readily with heavy lambs selling from £96 to £103 each with all good quality
pens from 390p to 413p per kilo for 24.2kilos @ £100 each followed by 404p per kilo for 25kilos @
£101 each.
Good quality middleweight lambs sold from 420p to 445p per kilo for 20kilos @ £89 each followed
by 443p per kilo for 21kilos @ £93 each.
Light store lambs sold to 493p per kilo for 15kilos @ £74 each followed by 485p per kilo for 13.2kilos
@ £64 each.
Stronger stores sold to 432p per kilo for 17kilos @ £73.50 each. Main demand for stronger stores
from 410p to 430p per kilo.
The 250 cull ewes sold readily to a top of £114 each. All fleshed ewes sold from £80 to £110 each.
Plainer ewes sold from £50 to £70 each.
A full yard of Breeding hoggets returned a firmer trade on the week to a top of £175 each with other
pens from £170, £165 & £162 each. Several more sold from £140 to £160 each.

from 410p to 430p per kilo.
