MARKETHILL LIVESTOCK CATTLE SALE REPORT 4 TH JULY 2020
An entry of 650 cattle at Markethill on Saturday 4 th July continued to sell in an exceptionally strong
demand for all classes of cattle.
HEIFERS
200 heifers maintained their recent trade with beef heifers selling to a top of £244 per 100 kilos for
620k Lim at £1515 from a Belleeks farmer followed by £239 per 100 kilos for 596k Char at £1425
from a Belleeks producer. All top quality beef heifers sold steadily from £210 to £237 per 100 kilos
and to a top of £1525 for 660k Char £230 from a Newtownhamilton producer. Forward feeding
heifers sold to £238 per 100 kilos for 570k Char at £1355 from an Armagh farmer followed by £229
per 100 kilos for 560k Char at £1285 from a Belleeks producer. Main demand for good quality
feeding heifers from £200 to £227 per 100 kilos. Good quality middleweight heifers sold to £251 per
100 kilos for 428k Sim at £1075 for a Dungannon producer. The same owner received £249 per 100
kilos for 424k Sim at £1055. All good quality middleweights from £200 to £224 per 100 kilos.
Second quality heifers sold from £185 to £195 per 100 kilos.

from a Mountnorris farmer followed by £1685 for 720k Lim from a Newtownhamilton producer.
Main demand for beef bullocks from £210 to £232 per 100 kilos with several bullocks selling from
£1550 to £1650 each. Forward feeding bullocks sold to £244 per 100 kilos for 646k Lim at £1575
from a Cullyhanna producer followed by £240 per 100 kilos for 618k Char at £1485 from a Ballyward
farmer. All good quality forward feeding bullocks from £200 to £235 per 100 kilos. Middleweight
bullocks sold to £236 per 100 kilos for 440k Lim at £1045 from an Annaghmore farmer. The same
owner received £225 per 100 kilos for 452k Lim at £1015. Main demand from £200 to £220 per 100
kilos. Angus bullocks sold to £220 per 100 kilos for 494k at £1085 from a Lurgan producer. Good
quality Friesian bullocks sold from £150 to £170 per 100 kilos for 602k at £1025 and up to £1125 for
660k from a Dromore farmer.
