MARKETHILL LIVESTOCK CATTLE SALE REPORT 30 TH JUNE 2020
An entry of 50 dairy cows in Markethill on Tuesday 30 th June included a special entry of calved cows
and heifers from a Whitecross farmer which sold to a top price of £1820 with others selling at £1800,
£1780 and £1720. Main demand from £1300 to £1600 each.
CULL COWS
140 cull cows sold in a steady demand. Good quality beef bred cows selling from £150 to £177 per
100 kilos for 690k Lim at £1225 from a Dungannon farmer followed by £171 per 100 kilos for 700k
Lim at £1205 from a Belleeks producer. Fleshed Friesian cows sold to £139 per 100 kilos for 680k at
£955 from a Kilkeel farmer. All well fleshed Friesian cows from £120 to £134 per 100 kilos for 760k
at £1025 from an Annalong farmer. Second quality friesians from £100 to £115 per 100 kilos and the
poorest types from £80 to £90 per 100 kilos.

180 lots in the calf ring sold in another very strong demand young bull calves under 6 weeks selling
from £280 to £450 for a Lim followed by £370 for an AA. Good quality heifer calves to £375 for a BB
all good quality heifers sold from £250 to £365. Good entry of reared calves returned a very strong
trade with reared bull calves to £700 and reared heifer calves to £600 each.
