MARKETHILL LIVESTOCK CATTLE SALE REPORT 11^TH FEBRUARY 2020

An entry of 100 cull cows at Markethill on Tuesday 11^th February sold in a steady demand.  Top quality beef bred cows sold to £294 per 100 kilos for 710k BB at £1380 for an Armagh producer followed by £192 per 100 kilos for 710k at £1360 for an Armagh farmer.  Top price £1445 for 860k blonde from a Keady producer.  Main trade from £140 to £180 per 100 kilos.  Friesian cows sold to a top of £122 per 10 kilos for 690k at £845.  Main demand from £105 to £120 per 100 kilos.  Second quality friesians from £90 to £100 per 100 kilos and the poorest types from £70 to £85 per 100 kilos.

Dairy stock sold to £1600 each for 3 calved heifers for an Aghalee farmer.

The 90 calves sold in an excellent trade.  Good quality bull calves under 6 weeks old sold to £360 each for two Char and £330 for BB.  Main demand from £230 to £315.  Heifer calves sold to £320 for a Lim followed by £280 for a Her.  Main trade for good quality heifers from £210 to £270 each.
