148 Buyers Spend €620,000 at Kilmallock

Big numbers and big prices were the order of the day at
Kilmallock on Monday last. 810 Stock including 184
calves and runners were on offer and sold to 148 buyers
for a massive turnover of €620,000. Sellers are winning
the Lotto every Monday! Bullocks sold for up €1950
each or €2.50 per kg for Heavy lots. Lighter Bullocks sold
for up to €1280 each or €2.80 per kg. Dry cows sold for
up to €1370 a head or €2.12 per kg. Heifers sold for up
to €1540 a head or €2.64 per kg. There were 15 Dairy
stock sold and making up to €1520 each. Bulls sold for
up to €1800. Runners sold for up to €700 and younger
calves made up to €400.
As sales are very big for the time of year and some
buyers are viewing the cattle and going home to buy
online. We would as sellers to have the cattle in the
yard as early as possible.

Covid-19 – Arrangements

Buyers only will be allowed into the ring and all intending buyers must register with the
mart in advance of the sale. They must also register with the mart if they wish to view

animals before sale.

Sellers can enter the seller’s box only for the sale of their animals. Otherwise, they must

stay in their vehicles.

All sales will be streamed live on the internet and livestock can also be purchased online.

Sales will be conducted in accordance with HSE and Department of Agriculture protocols
and guidelines. This includes wearing a mask and social distancing of 2 metres
throughout the mart. No congregating of people will be allowed anywhere on the mart
