The annual Commercial Shorthorn sale held in conjunction with the general sale in Kilfenora on the Saturday of the bank holiday proved a great success. There was a very good entry of continental heifers also and these were a very good trade. The quality shorthorn heifers made very good money with both sellers and buyers nationwide. Tops of these made to €1,170 with many lots of these weanling heifers making €750 to €910 or up to €5/kg. A couple of top quality bulls in the shorthorn section made €1,450 and €1,530 respectively.
