Castlerea Mart Market Report re sale 01/04/21

700 cattle presented for sale this week with trade and prices holding firm as buyers continue to source stock despite the  recent weather conditions. Heifers were in strong demand again this week while the weanling rings reported good clearances with the top quality weanling exceeding €3  a kilo in both rings. The dry cows trade is holding firm with €2.26 a kilo reached. Breeding stock continue to rise in price as increased interest was shown this week while the calf trade was very strong also with prices reaching €440.
