Castlerea Mart Market Report re sale 11/06/20
Good numbers of stock presented for sale on Thursday last as trading resumed in the rings and online. In Ring 3 Calves and Runners reported a good trade, while the cows with calves at foot were in strong demand with prices topping out at €2010. The Dry cows with good numbers on offer were in good demand also with the top cows exceeding €2 a kilo. In the heifer and weanling heifer rings demand was firm with renewed Northern Ireland interest but quality was still a major factor in prices.
The store heifers peaked at €2.62 a kilo while the weanling heifers peaked at €3.31 a kilo.
