54th Aughrim Sheep Breeders Show and Sale
After no sale last year Aughrim Sheep Breeders returned this year with one of their biggest sales with 3000 sheep on offer and record prices.
1st Prize and Champion Ewe Lambs of the show won by Mr. Peter Behan Lot 31 10 E/L 59kg at €270
1st Prize of cheviot Lambs won by Mr Mervyn Griffin 10 Lambs 50.8kg at €196
Best pen of Factory Lambs won by Mr Peter Behan 56kg at €142
Best pen of 10 Cheviot Hogget Ewes
1st Mr John Driver Sold for €300
2nd Mervyn Griffin sold for €325
Best pen of 10 SFX Hogget Ewes
1st Charles Fenton sold for €282
2nd Patrick Kenny sold for €275
3rd John Malone sold for €305
Older Cheviot Ewes sold to a top price of €225
