Cow Sale & Cattle Sale
Largest cattle sale of the Autumn so far. We had 240 head of cows on Friday night with a very solid trade throughout. With a lot more Friesian cows out of the parlour on offer. With these mainly making from €1/kg to €150 with the weight. Some Friesian cows dried off and ready to feed making up to €300 with the weight. Heavier Friesian cows making up to €500 with the weight. Onto Saturday 1468 head on offer including a suckler sale. Beef and forward stores met a very lively trade with many lots making over a €1000 with the weight. Lighter quality stores were also in demand with farmers and agents battling it out for cattle to fill sheds.

Finally we had 80 sucklers on offer in ring 2 with cows and calves selling from €1400 to €2380 with all quality lots selling over €2000. Heifers and young cows in calf and calving this side of Christmas selling from €1200 to €1800 with top quality cows calving in the early new year selling between €1200 and €1600 depending on age.
