Ballinrobe Mart Report 1st November 2017

 

Cattle and sheep numbers are remaining very big in Ballinrobe with a noticeable improvement in the trade especially in the bullock section.

 

Some examples of Heifer prices from ring 1, a Charolais 505 kg made €1280.00 or €2.53 per kg, a Limousine 475 kg made €1145.00 or €2.41 per kg and an Aberdeen Angus 380 kg made €945.00 or €2.49 per kg.

Some Bullock prices, a Limousine X 535 kg made €1360.00 or €2.54 per kg, 3 Charolais sold together 495 kg made €1210.00 or €2.44 an Aberdeen Angus 485 kg made €1100.00 or €2.27 per kg.

In Ring 2, top price in the Weanling Heifers went to a Charolais 395 kg made €1105.00 or € 2.80 per kg.

Best price in the Weanling Bulls went to a Charolais 365 kg made €1100.00 or €3.01 per kg

Top price in the dry cows went to a Charolais X 735 kg made €1330.00 or €1.81 per kg.

An Aberdeen cow with @ bull calf @ foot made €1600.00.

 

Sheep numbers are beginning to decline slightly . Store Lambs were making from €65.00 to €100.00 with ewe lambs making up to a €112.00, Factory Lambs were making from €90.00 to €110.00 with Fat Ewes making from €68.00 to a €95.00.
