A huge sale of cattle in Ballinrobe on Wednesday last which would be in keeping with a typical October sale. Again atrocious weather conditions failed to dampen the trade which saw almost a full Clarence in both yards.

Some examples of Heifer prices from ring , a Charolais 570 kg made €1315.00 or €2.31 per kg, a Limousine X 465 kg made €1220.00 or €2.62 per kg, 2 Aberdeen Angus sold together 290 kg made €1075.00 or €2.76 per kg.

Some Bullock prices, a Limousine X 565 made €1460.00 or €2.58 per kg, a Charolais 520 kg made €1430.00 or €2.75 per kg, a Limousine 485 kg made €1200.00 or €2.47 per kg and 2 Limousine X 312 kg made €835.00 or €2.68 per kg.

In Ring 2 top price in the Weanling Heifers went to a Charolais 285kg made €930.00 or € 3.26 per kg.

Top price in the Weanling Bulls went to a Charolais 315 kg made €1005.00 or €3.19 per kg

Top price in the Dry Cows went to a Limousine 775 kg made €1530.00 or €1.97 per kg.

 

A Charolais cow with @ heifer calf @ foot made €1640.00.

 

Sheep numbers were slightly back on the previous week with the trader a little firmer.. Store Lambs were making from €66.00 to €95.00 with ewe lambs making up to a €117.00, Factory Lambs were making from €90.00 to €110.00 with Fat Ewes making from €77.00 to a €108.00.
