A special continental bullock sale brought some fine quality stock to Ballinrobe on Wednesday last. Despite the atrocious weather conditions the buyers showed up in numbers and there was a full clearance.

 

Some examples of Bullock prices from ring 1, a Charolais 655 kg made €1645.00 or €2.51 per kg, a Limousine 535 kg made €1360.00 or €2.54 per kg, a Belgian Blue X 455 kg made €1190.00 or €2.62 per kg.

Some Heifer prices, a Charolais 540 kg made €1380.00 or €2.56 per kg, a Limousine x 495 kg made €1230.00 or €2.48 per kg, an Aberdeen Angus 415 kg made €990.00 or €2.39 per kg.

In Ring 2 top price in the Weanling Heifers went to a Charolais 315 kg made €950.00 or € 3.02 per kg.

Top price in the Weanling Bulls went to a Charolais 290 kg made €960.00 or €3.31 per kg

Top price in the Dry Cows went to a Limousine 750 kg made €1520.00 or €2.03 per kg.

 

A Charolais cow with @ heifer calf @ foot made €1530.00.

 

The biggest sheep sale of the year so far took place in Ballinrobe on Wednesday. Prices remain very similar to previous weeks with a 100 % clearance..
