Ballinrobe Mart Report 29 th /30 th July 2020
Cattle numbers were on par with the previous week in Ballinrobe on Wednesday last, which again was
very big for the time of year. There were plenty of customers around for the lovely quality stock that was on
offer resulting in a full clearance.
Some Examples Of Prices From Wednesdays Sale:
Heifers: 2 Limousine X's sold together 415 kg made €1150.00 or €2.77 per kg, a Simmental X 735 kg made
€1590.00 or €2.16 per kg, a Belgian Blue X 355 kg made €1140.00 or €3.21 per kg and a Charolais 335 kg made
€1030.00 or €3.07 per kg.

Bullocks : A Charolais 535 kg made €1290.00 or €2.41 per kg (pic above left) a Limousine 655 kg made €1480.00 or
€2.26 kg and 2 Charolais sold together 435 kg made €1120.00 or €2.57 per kg.
Best price in Weanling bulls went to a Belgian Blue X 355 kg made €1020.00 or €2.87 per kg.
Top price in the dry cows went to a Simmental X (pic above right) 855 kg made €1720..00 or €2.01 per kg.
An Aberdeen Angus X cow with bull calf @ foot made €1575.00.
Cattle sales continue each Wednesday with pre booking on Fridays from 9.00 am to 13.30 pm on 094 95

Another fine yard of sheep on Thursday with prices back up again due to the amount of customers around
especially for the lighter store Lambs which made from €77.00 to a €102.00, ewe lambs made from
€107.00 to a €128.00, factory lambs made from €95.00 to €118.00, fat ewes were making from €72.00 to
€117.00.
Please note that breeding Ewe sales will commence on Friday next 7 th of August.
All sheep are weighed and sold through the ring with an online system also in place.
