Our special continental Heifer sale brought a fine showing of cattle to Ballinrobe on Wednesday last, trade
was strong for all types on offer.
Some Examples Of Prices From Wednesdays Sale:
Heifers: 4 Charolais (pic above) sold together 475 kg made €1100.00 or €2.31 per kg, a Limousine 580 kg made
€1480.00 or €2.55 per kg, a Charolais 350 kg made €920.00 or €2.63 per kg and an Aberdeen Angus X 330 kg made
€800.00 or €2.42 per kg.
Bullocks : A Charolais X 525 kg made €1240.00 or €2.36 per kg , an Aberdeen Angus 450 kg made €950.00 or
€2.11 per kg and a Charolais X 470 kg made €1170.00 or €2.49 per kg
Best for a Dry cow was for a Charolais 810 kg made €1520.00 or €1.88 per kg
A Beligan Blue X cow with heifer calf @ foot made €1560.00
Cattle sales continue each Wednesday with pre booking on Fridays from 9.00 am to 13.30 pm on 094 95

Sheep numbers were up again on last week to last week with once again the trade remaining similar Store Lambs
made from €66.00 to a €97.00, factory lambs made from €94.00 to €116.00, fat ewes were making from €88.00 to
€118.00, and a pen of ewe lambs made a €132.00.
Please note that Next Monday 14th September is the first of our Autumn weanling sales.
Breeding ewe sales will continue each Friday until mid October.
All sheep are weighed and sold through the ring with an online system also in place.
