Ballinrobe Mart Report 27^th November 2019

The final sale for November 2019 brought out a fine show of cattle to Ballinrobe on Wednesday last. Again there were plenty of customers around the ring to bid for stock, the quality type lots fetching the bigger money.

Some  Examples Of Prices From Wednesdays Sale:

Heifers: A Limousine X 575 kg  made €1320.00 or €2.30 per kg, a Belgian Blue X 475 kg made €1140.00 or  €2.40 per kg, 2 Charolais sold together 440 kg made €1020.00 or €2.32 per kg and an Aberdeen Angus 420 kg made €1070.00 or €2.55 per kg.

 

Bullocks: A Limousine X 535 kg made  €1100.00 or €2.06 per kg, 2 Charolais sold together 525 kg made €1050.00 or €2.19 per kg and a 3 Aberdeen Angus 425 kg made  €930.00 or €2.19 per kg.

 

Top price in the Dry cows went to an a Belgian Blue X (pic above) 695 kg made €1215. 00 or €1.75 per kg.

Top price in the Weanling Bulls went to a Charolais X 275 kg made €820.00 or €2.98 per kg and best price for a Weanling heifer went to a Limousine X 315 kg made €850.00 or €2.70 kg.

Another very big sheep sale with a 100% clearance, store lambs which made from €62.00 to €109.00, factory lambs made from €66.00 to a €116.00, and Ewe lambs made from €108.00 to €120.00 fat ewes made from €64.00 to €106.00. Such is the demand for lambs it has outweighed the supply resulting in an upward trend in the price of sheep each week.
