Balla Weanling Sale Report....
The weanling sale was held the 14 th Sept with 300 bulls and 100 heifers. A great
sale with plenty of buying for all types around the ring and online. The quality of
the weanlings was very good especially some nice continental ones and this
resulted in nearly a full clearance. Light Bull weanlings 200kg to 350kg averaged
2.86p/kg. There was a power of these 300kg+ quality lots making over the
3:00p/kg. Bulls 350kg to 450kg averaged 2.61 p/kg. While 450kg+ averaged 2.41
p/kg. One CHX bull born Feb ’21 weighing 380kg made E1,300.00 euro or
3.42p/kg sold by a farmer from Kilcon – Ballina & a heavier 460kg LMX Bull made
E1,260.00 sold by a farmer from Ross – Castlebar, There was just around 100
heifers weanlings and those up to 350 kg averaged 2.95 euro p/kg. Heifer
weanlings 350kg to 450kg averaged 2.64 p/kg. The best a 410kg Char born Oct
‘20 that made E1,120.00 sold by a farmer from Breaffy - Castlebar.
