Store Bullocks up to 400 kg were making up to E700 with the weight & they averaged 2.20 p/kg.
Bullocks 400kg to 500kg averaged 2.24 p/kg...the best a 490g CHX born April 2016 sold by a Kilconly - Tuam farmer at E1280, Bullocks 500kg+ averaged 2.11 p/kg while bullocks 600+ were making 2.04p/kg and there was some nice cattle on offer a 720kg CHX born May 16 sold by a Ballyvary - Castlebar farmer for E1670 euro or 950 euro with the weight.
There was upto 350 heifers for sale and they were slightly up on last week...those up to 400 kg were averaged 2.24 Euro p/kg . The best store this week a May '16 born 375kg CH heifer sold by an Emlaghfad - Ballymote farmer that made E1050 or 2.80p/kg. Heifers 400kg to 500kg averaged 2.21 p/kg with the weight. The best a 470kg LMX bulling heifer born May 16 sold by a Brize - Claremorris farmer that made E1340 or 2.85 p/kg While 500kg plus averaged 2.04p/kg...they met with a strong trade and the best was a smashing 630kg Char born April 2015 sold by a Aclare - Co Sligo farmer at E1450 euro or 2.30 p/kg.
This week there was over 200 cows on offer including a special sale of 40 incalf heifers by a Claremorris farmer....In the Springer's there was a some nice stock & best this week was an May '15 born LMX cow with its 4 week old LMX Bull calf at foot sold by an Enniscrone - Co Sligo farmer for E2,300.00 euro...while in the dry cows there was some nice stock in particular a Lim Cow born Nov '11 sold by another Enniscrone - Co Sligo farmer for E1680 euro and overall dry cows averaged from 1.56 p/kg.

On Tuesday the 17th of October there was weanling sale held with over 700 lots...there was a strong trade for Char stock and other types met with better buying.

The weanling bulls 200 to 350kg averaged 2.72p/kg, While heavier types 350 to 450 kg averaged 2.47 p/kg. Heavier types 450kg+ averaged 2.25 p/kg. A farmer from Killawalla - Westport was happy after seeing his March '17 born 340kg CHX bull sold at E1100 or 3.24 p/kg.

And a heavier 525kg bull born Feb '17 sold by an Aughamore - Ballyhaunis farmer made E1,245.00 euro.

In the Heifer weanlings those weighing 200 to 350 kg averaged 2.51 p/kg. Heavier heifers 350 to 450 kg averaged 2.17 p/kg. One nice Jan '17 born LMX calf weighing 365kg owned by a Ballydrum - Swinford farmer made E1025 that's 2.81 p/kg.

The End of Month Continental Sale will be on next Saturday the 28th of Oct with booking on Wednesday the 25th at 09:30 am for the Bullocks & Heifers & 11:00am for the cows while the booking for the Weanlings Sale on Tuesday the 31st will be booked on Thursday the 26th at 09:30am on 0818-301-401.

Next Saturday the 28th there well be the a Special Sale of 12 in calf cows... scanned in calf to a PT bull all genuine cows as the owner is changing his system.

It is now an option for sellers to get paid by EFT payment to their Bank Account...if interested please get the necessary form from the mart.

Also all cattle must have two tags & be properly de-horned when presented for sale.
