On Saturday the 14th of October the sale was held at Balla a fairly big sale with approx 900 cattle...There was some great cattle making big money and plainer ones back in price."
"Store Bullocks up to 400 kg were making up to E700 with the weight & they averaged 2.24 p/kg.
Bullocks 400kg to 500kg averaged 2.28 p/kg...the best a 420g LMX born Aug 2015 sold by a Clogher - Claremorris farmer at E1310, Bullocks 500kg+ averaged 2.07 p/kg while bullocks 700+ were making 2.00p/kg and there was some qreat cattle on offer a 640kg CHX born April 16 sold by a Mayo Abbey - Claremorris farmer for E1580 euro or 940 euro with the weight.
There was a big sale of heifers...those up to 400 kg were averaged 2.10 Euro p/kg . The best store this week a May '16 born LMX heifer sold by a Newport farmer 385kg that made E940 or 2.44p/kg. Heifers 400kg to 500kg averaged 2.20 p/kg with the weight. While 500kg plus averaged 2.04p/kg...they met with a strong trade & the best a 455kg LM_ born Mar 16 sold again this week be the same Hollyhill - Castlebar farmer for E1200 or 2.64 p/kg while the best strong heifer was a smashing 720kg LMX born Feb 2015 sold by a Meelish - Hollymount farmer for E1540 euro.
This week there was about 180 cows on offer including a special sale of 32 incalf heifers by a Keltimagh farmer....In the Springer's there was a some nice stock & best this week was an Feb '15 born LMX cow sold for E1910 euro...while in the dry cows there was some nice stock in particular a Char Cow born May '05 sold by a Aughavilla - Claremorris farmer that made E1750 euro and overall dry cows averaged from 1.59 p/kg."

Forthcoming Marts
The next Sale will be on Saturday the 21th of Oct with booking on Wednesday the 18th at 09:30 am for the Bullocks & Heifers & 11:00am for the cows while the booking for the Weanlings Sale on Tuesday the 24th will be booked on Thursday the 19th at 09:30am on 0818-301-401.
Next Saturday the 21th there well be the a Special Sale of 40 in calf heifers by a Claremorris Farmer...30 Lim + 10 Angus heifers scanned in calf to AI Lim bulls and due to calf Nov on.
It is now an option for sellers to get paid by EFT payment to their Bank Account...if interested please get the necessary form from the mart. 
Also all cattle must have two tags & be properly de-horned when presented for sale.
