Silage harvesting the old fashioned way at Marlinstown, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 30th May 2012. This shot was taken late in the evening - around 9:45pm - and at a distance. The lighting is not what we would have wanted. However, it was a shot that we didn't want to miss. In today's high-tech, high-end agri-contractor business silage harvesting is very often done with self-propelled forage harvesters and an army of tractors and trailers drawing back to the pit. In the picture we a CASE Tractor pulling a JF Forage Harvester filling an old wooden single axle silage trailer.
