Fatal cow attack in Clare

An elderly farmer has died after he was attacked by a cow on the family farm west Clare.
Michael O�Dea, a 74-year-old from the village of Cree , Co Clare had gone to assist of his son after the cow had turned on him.
They had gone to dose a newly born. The cow became agitated and initially turned on the son.
When the father went to help, the cow kicked him several times and he suffered fatal injuries.
His son suffered a broken ankle in the attack and managed to raise the alarm.
The Pensioner was pronounced dead at the scene by a local doctor.
