Competition Authority raid IFA offices over Milk Inquiry

The Competition Authority visited the IFA HQ as part of an investigation into co-ordinatation of protests which saw farmers removing Northern milk from shelves.
Following this a protest at Government Buildings IFA President John Byran said that in 1996 farmers share of the retail price of milk was 42% and this had fallen to 26% by 2009.
The Competition Authoriity is investigating complaints that the IFA was involved in co-ordinating protests that could breach competition law if it is determined that the action was designed to interfere with supply of milk from the North of Ireland.
