Beef spend up and more lambs go through NI Plants

A nine percent increase in expenditure on beef in the UK during the four weeks ending 15 September 2013 totalled £153 million, compared to the corresponding period in 2012.
A 2.5 percent increase in throughput of lambs in NI plants between June and October 2013 compared with the same period the previous year.
QUOTES from the plants this week for U-3 grade prime cattle were generally 364-366p/kg with one plant quoting 362p/kg.
