Aldi Suppliers busy at National Ploughing
OVER 100,0000 PEOPLE MEET ALDI’S IRISH SUPPLIERS OVER 3 DAYS AS 2013 NATIONAL PLOUGHING CHAMPIONSHIPS DRAWS TO A CLOSE
 
More than 100,000 visitors descended on the Love Ireland, Like Aldi marquee and met with over 30 of the retailer’s 127 Irish suppliers who were showcasing their products over the three days of the event. The Love Ireland, Like Aldi marquee showcased a wide range of Irish produce, hosted cookery demonstrations and displayed a range of butchery skills over the three days. RTE’s Joe Duffy joined Aldi’s Young Chef Jack O’Keeffe (21) from Cork in the Aldi kitchen to cook for thousands of delighted guests. Tom Hayes T.D. – Minister for Horticulture, Forestry, Food Safety and the Greyhound Industry also visited the marquee to meet with suppliers who were enjoying a very successful and busy three days.
 
Silver Pail Dairy, producers of Aldi’s mouth-watering ice cream were cooling visitors down with over 2,000 litres of ice cream served over the three days. Sunshine Juices distributed 15,000 glasses of refreshing orange juice while Aldi sausage and pudding suppliers, Loughnanes of Galway kept visitors fed with 70,000 sausages and 30,000 slices of black and white pudding. O’Haras of Foxford have delivered 15,000 tasty buns to guests while Walsh Gourmet Foods served up 38,400 slices of artisan pizza over the three days.
