Youth Bank Monaghan

Macra na Feirme is looking for members aged 18 to 25 in County Monaghan to take part in an exciting new project known as Youth Bank. Youth Bank is a unique way of gaining new skills of grant making, which include decision-making, interview skills and planning. The members involved in Youth Bank will be responsible for funding local youth projects under the theme of Peace. This Youth Bank will run in collaboration with the Young Farmers of Ulster with two individual Youth Banks, one made up of members from the Young Farmers of Ulster and one made up of members of Macra na Feirme.

The process will take place over a period of nine to twelve months. Training will mostly take place over weekends in residential settings where both groups will meet for training days and overnight accommodation several times throughout the project year. Both Youth Banks will run under the Youth Network for Peace project of which Macra na Feirme is a partner. Youth Network for Peace is a project funded by European Union Peace IV funding which is a fund to promote peace and reconciliation on the island of Ireland. Based on the location of clubs from both organisations involved in this Youth Bank we are looking for members from the Emyvale and wider County Monaghan area between the age of 18 and 25 to be part of the Macra na Feirme Youth Bank. If you might be interested in being part of this exciting project contact Jennifer Arthur for more information – 0871853485 or jarthur@macra.ie.
