Is farm equipment & day to day stuff cheaper up north

Postby Bawn » Wed Apr 14, 2010 2:33 pm

Just wondering if anyone has gone up north for cheaper farming shopping.

I know machinery is definitety cheaper, tractors etc but is there any value to be got with other things such as maybe machinery parts, medicine, dosing for cattle./sheep/horses. plumbing equip.

if anyone has, could they share the experience with us.

Everythiing seems to cheaper up norf ... I go up myself from time to time even though I shouldnt really and it does make me think

On the one hand I dont like having to compete here with products from "overseas" markets and yet I sometimes buy outside of the state :(

Its just that sometimes you have to do it to be competitive and make a few pounds

It would be great if some of the machinery dealers around the country could sell parts and spares online ... would save me some time and hopefully some money anyway
